Frankie Gales

Frankie Gales graduated from the University of Colorado with a BA in Biology in 1997. Simultaneously she attended LPN school at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center and graduated with honors in June 1995.  Frankie was a member of the Colorado Army National Guard and served in many different capacities before retiring in August 2007.  She acted as a Military Police and medical liaison to civilian emergency response agencies during “Operation Columbine.”  She also taught the Combat Lifesaver Course to Active Duty, National Guard and Reserve soldiers deploying overseas.

Frankie has worked as an LPN and Ophthalmic Technician for St. Luke’s Eye Care and Laser Center in Colorado Springs, CO. since January 1992.  There she is responsible for all OSHA and CPR training, and has authored St. Luke’s Pandemic Flu and Disaster Preparedness plans. 

Through her work with the El Paso County Medical Society Foundation disaster planning team, Frankie participates in many local, state and national committees and organizations devoted to disaster preparedness.  She has recently been elected Regional Board Chair of the Metropolitan Medical Response System. She is also a volunteer and coordinator for the Medical Reserve Corps of El Paso County.
